summer camp

week 3 – wednesday notes

Daily blog posts include photos from the day before and details about today.

Today, the middle of week 3 at Grace Art Camp, we were serenaded by Portland Taiko who graced the Music & Dance Studio all day and performed after recess demonstrating that perseverance and collaboration are key ingredients in life.   17 campers then went on to demonstrate this in the suminagashi studio and produced something like 120 pieces of marbled paper while the rest of us were busy sewing bento lunch bags, printing furoshiki inspired by contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama, assembling glass samurai and moon princesses, matsuri lanterns, exploring  kabuki masks, animating floating worlds of origami moons, and so much more! Only two more days and we will all be champs!
